Early CAA Tournament pick Friday

Nice momentum for Towson State going into the CAA tournament with back-to-back wins and scoring 83 and 81 points. NC Wilmington will not be at full strength today playing without junior forward John Fields. He leads the team in rebounds at 8.7 per game and has averaged 10.2 points, 2nd on the team. In a meeting this year with Towson State, Fields had 21 rebounds and 13 points. Curiously the visiting team won the two meetings this year. The Seahawks of Wilmington fired their head coach in late January. Interim coach Brooks Lee finished the season 2-7 in conference play. The Seahawks are 3-13 SU in their last 16. Keep in mind Towson won the first two rounds of the 2009 Colonial Conference Tournament while Wilmington lost by 13 to Hofstra in the opening game. Something else I like about Towson is the fact their four leading scorers, all averaging over 9.2 per game, are seniors and juniors.
