The Denver Nuggets coasted to an easy win over Minnesota last week and Carmelo Anthony is coming off the highest scoring game of his career with 50 points and looks to lead the Nuggets to their 11th consecutive victory over Minnesota tonight. Minnesota will try to avoid a team record with its 16th straight defeat while the Nuggets are coming off their fourth victory in a row and sixth in seven games. The Nuggets beat Minnesota last Wednesday 124-111 as Carmelo played a season-low 29 minutes. The Nuggets had little trouble against the Minnesota defense leading by as many as 27 points in that game while seven Denver players scored in double figures for the team's 10th straight win over the Timberwolves. The Nuggets are averaging 116.3 points on 50.8 percent shooting in their last four games as the Timberwolves only win was to winnless New Jersey in their season opener. Minnesota lost Friday at home 120-95 to Phoenix and they are being outscored by an average of 14.7 points and have five defeats by at least 23 points. They shot 36 percent against the Suns falling behind by 32 on their own home court and tonight they face a Nugget team that has won 17 straight regular-season games at the Pepsi Center and outscored their opponents by an average of 14.2 points a game. After a sluggish night on defense the day after Thanksgiving, George Karl will have his Nuggets back to playing lock down Denver defense which means another blowout loss for the Timberwolves.
