WE WOULD LIKE TO WELCOME COLLEGE CHARLIE AS OUR NEWEST ADDITION TO OUR TEAM OF FANTASY WRITERS. AS A RECENTLY RETIRED ATHLETIC DIRECTOR COLLEGE CHARLIE OFFERS A VERY UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE TO THE WORLD OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL.
"It's all about the money and has nothing to do with education! I have been a prep school athletics director for 36 years. I believe that college athletics, particularly football, at the six power conferences have abandoned the "student-athlete" concept for the big bucks. The education of the athlete is totally secondary to the commercial enterprise of big time college athletics programs. I like to write as a way to let off some steam and as a way to interact with folks - and blogging with Smooth Talk Sports is a great way to do it! It is always fun to receive comments from readers and I welcome all. Some of you will agree with my commentary while others will get downright angry at what I publish. I thought it was only appropriate to kick off my blog at Smooth Talk Sports with my insight to the BCS.
