The Giants of the National League West under their Manager Bruce Bochy are an Even Stephen 10-10 on the new season, but finished April on an 8-3 winning run. Randy Johnson (1-2, 6.16 ERA) gets the nod for the Giants this evening. The 45-year-old Lefty is 14-4 with a 2.13 ERA in 20 starts since 2001 against the Rockies. He’s 4-0 versus them since a loss in 2004 and posted a 2.70 ERA in winning all three of his starts against them last season. Positive trends for the Giants here include 8-3 at Home, and 4-2 versus losing teams.
The Rockies enter this Division match up under their Manager Clint Hurdle at 8-12 on the year. They have been hard to gauge, but finished up April on a 3-1 winning run, all at Home. Ubaldo Jimenez (1-3, 7.58) takes the mound for the Rockies tonight. The Right-hander has allowed 16 runs and 14 walks over 12 innings in losing his last three starts. Negative trends for the Rockies here include 77-101 on the Road, 26-41 when the Total is in this run range, and 3-7 at night.
