Mark Redman gets the call to try and cool off the red-hot Chicago bats. Easier said than done but a change of venue will certainly help as the Cubs put up 20 runs in the first 2 games of this series. Redman comes in with a 14-9 record and a 3.59 ERA on the season. He has pitched much better at Pro Players Stadium. Posting a 2.88 ERA, compared to a 4.27 ERA on the road. He has faced the Cubs just once, going 7 innings and allowing only 4 hits and 0 runs in getting the 6-0 home win. Kerry Wood has been unhittable, as everyone has seen. Is he due for an average start? You could say that but we are not going to count on it. He has allowed only 7 earned runs in his last 8 starts, accumulating a 1.08 ERA while going 5-1 with 2 no-decisions. He has never lost to Florida, going 4-0 in 5 career starts with a 1.85 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and .162 BAA. The Cubs bats have been on fire as they have hot .302 at home in the playoffs but that average comes down to .253 on the road. We have yet to see two strong pitching performances in this series and this game has the perfect setup for that. Redman could be a live dog here but with the way Wood has been pitching, the under seems like a much safer bet.
