Boston Red Sox (Martinez) at Oakland A’s (Zito)

    Under 7 Boston/Oakland –120 (2 Units)

The offenses might be a bit lethargic after the long day and night of travel in their return from Boston but with these 2 pitchers going, it shouldn’t even matter. Martinez brings in a 1.57 ERA and 0.95 WHIP on the road this season in 109 IP. Pedro has never lost a postseason game as he is 3-0 with a 1.74 ERA in 31 innings over 5 games. Zito has a 3.03 ERA at home in 98 IP which includes a 2.65 ERA since mid-July. Zito was outstanding for Oakland in Game 2, pitching seven innings and allowing only one run on five hits to earn the victory. He struck out nine Red Sox and walked only two batters. Overall, Zito is 3-1 with a 2.03 ERA in 4 postseason starts. The Red Sox are hitting .216 in the series (32-148) while the A’s are hitting .211 (31-147). Barring any severe defensive problems, we should be a 2-1 or 3-2 type of game with both offenses continuing to struggle against the others teams aces.
