Tennessee Titans vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Play ON Jacksonville -6.5
The Byron Leftwich era officially ended this past week and although much of the media is focusing on that the Jaguars team will in fact rely on their defence in their hopes in making the playoffs. Although the team crashed and burned as the season ended their no mistaking their strong starts to seasons especially when playing at home as their amazing 11ppg surrendered stat from last season indicates.
This year in week 1 they host the Titans who have some (Vince) young talent but are still on a learning curve and in many regards may take a step back this season. The Jaguars will relentless in their pursuit of Young and this should lead to turnovers with their active secondary which is usually the deciding factor in games.
David Garrard is a much more mobile quarterback than Leftwich and this gives the Jaguars more offensive options which is key because of the lack of depth in the receiver postions. The Jaguars also look to revenge a week 15 lost in Tennessee in which they absolutely dominated in every category but still managed to lose as 3 point road favorites.
We expect the Jaguar defence to have a big game and keep their 8 year opening game ATS record in tact while their offence takes advantage and counters an athletic but inexperienced defence that gave up over 350 yards per game last season.
