Guys, I really liked this game at -24!!! So much so that it was going to be our NCAA Football Game Of The Week!!! However the line jumped to -28, when ECU starting Quarterback Robb Kass was suspended for one game for a DUI on August 25th.
#9 Ranked Virginia Tech was the #1 ranked defense in yards allowed last year, and are projected to be just as good if not better this year!!! They return 8 starters on both sides of the ball, including Junior signal caller Sean Glennon. Glennon has had a great pre-season camp, and will have a slew of Senior Wide Outs to throw to. Add Junior All Atlantic Conference Tailback Branden Ore into the mix, and it could be a long day for the ECU defense.
No doubt about it, Skip Holtz has turned this ECU Football program around. They went form cellar dwellars before his arrival, to a .500 team in his short tenure as coach. Today we will see exactly what Holtz brings to the table. Holtz is expected to start a Quarterback(Brett Clay) who hasn't played a starting down since high school!!! Defensively, ECU returns its front 7 starters from last year, but lost all 4 starters in the secondary!!!
Look for Virginia Tech to wear down an ECU team that will have trouble moving the ball with a very inexperienced starting quarterback. Virginia Tech may not show a lot today(LSU next week) but they should cover this huge spread regardless. I would not be surprised it Virginia Tech pitches a shutout today against ECU!!!
Take Virginia Tech -28 for 3-Units.
