    Utah Utes +9.5 (3 Units)

Urban Meyer philosophically favors a balanced attack in the first place, but he also has a running back capable of blowing hole after hole in opposing defenses. "You've got one of the best running backs in the country" in Brandon Warfield, quarterback Brett Elliott said. "He's a warrior. He was a warrior last year, and he's back. He's back with a vengeance, and he's showing everybody what he can do. So why not give it to him every time?" Warfield ran for 173 yards and a touchdown on 33 carries to extend his streak of 100-yard games to four. In that span, he has rushed for 626 yards and five touchdowns, and the Utes have won each game. "He's a soldier," Meyer said. "And I don't throw that word around very often." The Utes are hoping to have fellow senior Marty Johnson join Warfield in the backfield against Texas A&M but he is still listed as questionable. While the running game seems to be in fine shape, the passing game looked pretty good against Utah St. as well. Junior Brett Elliott and sophomore Alex Smith split the time against the Aggies and both made an impact. Elliott started and was 11-19 for 94 yards and 1 TD. Smith played part of the third and most of the fourth quarters, completing 5-7 passes for 86 yards and 2 TD’s. This is a homecoming of sorts as Warfield and offensive lineman Thomas Herrion will be going back to the state of Texas. Warfield is from Crockett, Texas, a town of 7,000 located about 80 miles northeast of College Station while Herrion is from Fort Worth. "My whole town is coming," said Warfield jokingly. Warfield has another reason to play well. His cousin, L'Tydrick Riley, is a wide receiver at Texas A&M. Last week, Texas A&M only led 9-3 at halftime against a team that they should have taken care of rather easily. 10 of their final 26 points came off short drives provided by outstanding kick returns by Terrence Murphy, including the first TD of the Franchione Era early in the third quarter after a 77-yard kickoff return. Reggie McNeal played the first and third quarters and misfired on several passes. He finished 7-of-13 passing for 82 yards and an interception. McNeal ran for two first downs on the final drive, which was capped by a 42-yard touchdown run by Courtney Lewis to all but clinch the victory. Before Lewis' run, the A&M rushing game struggled. Take out that long touchdown, and the Aggies had 89 yards on 33 carries. The Aggies struggled to run the ball just like they did last season, when they finished 10th in the Big 12 and 92nd in the nation. At the half, they'd run 13 times for 13 yards. This kind of non-production is just the opposite of the Utes. Kyle Filed is still one of the toughest places to go into and walk out with a win but it hasn’t had the same type of good fortunes for the home team as in years past. They have lost 7 home games in the last 3 years including 4 games last season. Meyer teams have been successful because of their outstanding balance. Bowling Green was the only team in the nation last year to average at least 215.0 yards in both rushing (219.1 ypg) and passing (229.8 ypg). His first game at Utah also produced balanced results: The Utes rushed for 202 yards and passed for 180 yards in their opener against Utah State. Meyer is 3-0 against the Big 12 as a head coach. He went 1-0 against Kansas and 2-0 against Missouri in his two years at Bowling Green. Meyer also went 5-0 against BCS teams, including two wins over ranked opponents. Utah is 17-1 ATS as road underdogs of 2 or more points since 1993. Balance is the key and balance can win this game as well as the Utes might surprise the Aggies on their historic home field.
