BOSTON COLLEGE EAGLES vs KANSAS JAY HAWKS SAT DEC 23RD @ 2 PM BEST CBS JAYHAWKS - THE 8.5
Eagles come into this encounter at 7-2 and the Jay hawks at 9-2. BC
has quality wins over Michigan St (+7), UMASS (+11) and Maryland
(+11). They have two somewhat embarrassing losses to Vermont (@ home
-14) and at Providence by 9. Kansas on the other hand has a quality
road wins over defending NCAA champion Florida and Depaul (+7). They
also have an embarrassing home loss to Oral Roberts by 7.
The Jay hawks were our pre-season #3 selection, as they returned 5
starters from a 25-8 squad coupled with a loaded recruiting class.
The whole squad is made up of underclassmen, with three players from
each of the fresh, soph and junior classes. If we were to fast
forward two years it would not surprise us to find half of this
roster playing in the NBA.
The Eagles (pre-season #19) return 3 starters from a 28-8 club, but
must replace leading scorer Craig Smith and about 28 points per game.
They do have an outstanding player in Jared Dudley (19 ppg & 9+
reb), but he is averaging a tiring 38+ minutes each and every night.
It appears the chemistry for Kansas is starting to jell, and fresh &
sophs Wright, Rush and Arthur are providing 40+ ppg and 18+ rebounds
nightly. The edge in the back court, bench and depth goes to the
J-Hawks and the inside to the Eagles, but only slightly. We rated
Kansas on the ball defense #3 in the nation last year, and it appears
they are taking up right were they left off by only allowing a meager
30% from the field for thier opponents. KU is at home, and deeper.
Rz is taking the J-Hawks!! Lay the 8 points and cover Saturday
afternoon on CBS.
