IOWA STATE CYCLONES @ TEXAS LONGHORNS SAT 9/23 @ 3:30 PM EST

Those of you familiar with RED ZONE SPORTS know we put extra effort each and every week in trying to find a nice underdog for our faithful. Well as they say, sports fans here is what we believe is a real good one! Both teams come into the game sporting 2-1 records, but UT's loss was to #1 Ohio State, but it was on their home field and convincingly. ISU lost the battle for IOWA last week, to the Hawkeye's, blowing an early lead.

The Horns have been ranked in the top 25 for 96 straight weeks, which now that Miami has fallen out of the top 25 poll is the tops in the nation. Texas is a sweet 72-0 when it outrushes an opponent, but this is not where the Cyclones have faltered. They hold their foes to a mere 85 yards per outing with their Achilles heel being the inexperienced secondary. ISU on the other hand have in Brett Meyer what many feel is the best QB in the Big 12. He is their all time career passing leader in yards and touchdowns, and has a 3-1 TD to INT ratio. And more importantly returns his whole cast of receivers that he threw for almost 3,000 yards to.

True Texas has been 37-4 ATS the last 7 years at home, and averaged 11+ wins the last five under Mack Brown. Still Iowa State is 6-1 ATS as a road dog versus a .500 or better team. Many feel ISU faces one of the toughest schedules in the nation with "9" bowl teams, 6 bowl winners, and the reigning national champion. State averages 26 ppg. and RED ZONE SPORTS loves the "big number" of 20 headed toward 21. Take ISU plus the points, and make it 7 covers in the last 8 on the road ATS
