  • Speedy JPEG Workflow

Shooting with high MP cameras in certain scenarios often results in huge amounts of data and slow PP workflow.
In the last two years I started exporting flat JPEGs in lower resolution to speed things up. The JPEGs are adjusted exposure- and WB-wise, but color grading, client proofing etc. is done with these JPEGs, not the RAWs.
It really improved things for me, so this is why I wanted to share it with the community.

Here is my full article and some insights for further reference:

    Anyone doing something similar?

I recently upgraded to a high MP camera and boy, the struggle with data overload was real! Tried the same trick of exporting flat JPEGs in lower res, and it's been a game-changer. Color grading, client proofs, you name it – all on those speedy JPEGs, not the RAWs.

Shooting with a high MP camera used to mean endless hours in post-processing, but exporting lower resolution JPEGs has seriously sped up my workflow. Checked out your article, @OP, and it's spot-on! The adjustments in exposure and WB on JPEGs make a huge difference. Also, kudos on the color grading and client proofing directly on the JPEGs – never thought of that, but it makes so much sense. One tool that's been a real gem for me is the JPEG Optimizer. It's been a lifesaver when I need to compress jpeg without compromising too much on quality. If you haven't tried it, it's worth a shot!
