NHL Odds: Flyers Host Maple Leafs, Look for Fifth Straight Victory
The Philadelphia Flyers are on a bit of a roll after winning their fourth-straight game on Saturday night versus the Montreal Canadiens. They’ll return home this Tuesday to welcome the Toronto Maple Leafs to the Wells Fargo Center as they attempt to push their winning streak to five. It won’t be easy for the Flyers, however. They’ll be up against a Toronto squad that’s in the midst of a reformation under newly-hired head coach Sheldon Keefe. Since taking over for Mike Babcock nearly two weeks ago, Keefe’s Leafs have gone 4-1-0.

The biggest difference under Keefe is that the Leafs have been far better in their own end. In the five games he’s been behind the bench, Toronto has given up just 11 goals. Compare that to their 3.21 goals against per game on the season, and the Leafs are vastly improved on the defensive front.
It’ll be interesting to see how the Flyers do against Toronto’s improved D, as Philly has scored 15 goals over their four-game winning streak. That production has come from a balanced attack from Philadelphia’s forward group, which is led by Travis Konecny (9 goals, 16 assists).
