  • TSA Worker Assaults Colleague Over Penis Joke

(May 8) -- Here's one thing that new airport body scanners won't pick up -- a short fuse.

Transportation Security Administration employee Rolando Negrin was arrested for assaulting a co-worker who had mocked his manhood after the 44-year-old passed through a full body scanner in Miami International Airport on Tuesday.

Things turned violent after a training session in which Negrin walked through a "Passenger Imager" -- a new machine that bounces electromagnetic waves off passengers' bodies so TSA screeners can see if they're hiding anything under their clothes.

According to NBC Miami, when Negrin went through the machine, a supervisor began cracking jokes about his penis with other colleagues.

Embarrassed, Negrin is accused of confronting one of his co-workers in an employee parking lot and striking him with a police baton.

"[Negrin] then told victim to kneel down and say 'you're sorry,'" a police report reads. "Victim stated he was in fear and complied with [Negrin]."

According to police reports obtained by CBS News, Negrin had been mocked at work for more than a year before he "could not take the jokes anymore and lost his mind."

Some civil rights groups contend that, although full body scanners might be an effective counterterrorism measure, they're an invasion of personal privacy rights.
