Gophers lost three of last four games, including bad loss at Indiana last week; they covered just four of last sixteen November road games, and are 4-10 in last fourteen tries as road dog.

Michigan State lost its QB last week; they lost eleven of last fifteen week after playing Michigan, and that OT loss is tough one to bounce back from. Buckeyes are 2-0 with Smith at QB; they're 5-1 when they score 21+ pts, but just 1-4 in last five tries as dog. Spartans are 3-0 at home and have 692 rushing yards in last two games.

Three Clemson losses this year are by 19-21-20 points, so the 17 doesn't entice us much, but 'canes are just 2-9 in last eleven tries as home favorite.

Heels covered two of last ten home finales; they waxed Hokies 42-3 in bowl game back in '97; think Beamer remembers?

Utah is playing for BCS points; they've scored 160 pts in last three games and are killing people, with only two of their eight wins by less than 20 points. Lubick covered seven of last 11 on carpet, and his Rams covered five of last six vs Utes, but this is once-in-lifetime year for Utah.

Oregon covered seven of its last nine games vs Cal, but just two of last ten November road games. Have sneaky feeling that Cal is really best team in country, based on how they pushed USC around in LA, losing on blunders in kicking game. Ducks scored 29 ppg in winning last 4 in row; they forced seven turnovers last week. Since the USC loss, Cal is 3-0, outscoring foes 110-28; neither Arizona or Arizona State scored against them.

Cardinal is 2-7 vs spread in last three games of last three years, but three of their four '04 losses are by eight or less points. ASU allowed 38 ppg in last three games; they're 3-1 as fave this season, but how do they react to being waxed by Cal Bears last week?
