    Power Forward
G Tech's Anthony McHenry vs Kansas's Wayne Simien: Tech will have difficulty slowing the athletic Simien, who scored 30 pts in Jayhawks win over UAB. Simien is averaging 18 ppg and 9.2 rebounds per game this season. EDGE Kansas

    Small Forward
Tech's B J Elder vs Kansas's Jeff Langford. You can't expect Elder to be fully effective, if he even plays at all after his ankle injury vs Nevada. Langford posseses, both athletic ability and toughness. Tech must try and stop him from slashing through the lanes. Edge Kansas due to Elder's injury

    Center
Tech's Luke Schenscher vs Kansas's Jeff Graves: The 7 foot 1 Schenscher is a limited, workmanlike player who can alter shots in the lane because of his length. If Kansas is smart, they'll have the 255lb Graves get physical with Schenscher to get him off his game or in foul trouble. Edge Tech

    Point Guard
Tech's Jarrett Jack vs Kansas's Aaron Miles: Jack is a talented and explosive sophomore. He averages 12.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, and is great at dishing off the rock averaging 5.7 rpg. Miles has been to the Final Four twice having the experience edge here and he definitely won't be intimidated. He is averaging 7 ppg, 3.3 rpg, and 8.7 assists in the Tourney so far ! Edge Kansas, might get some shit on this one!

Shooting Guard Tech's Marvin Lewis vs Kansas's JR Giddens: When Elder went out against Nevada, Lewis went off for 23 pts on 7 for 13 shooting from the floor. Can he repeat this performance against Kansas is one major question in today's game. Gidden is a freshmen who plays like a seasoned veteran. He is a streaky shooter, but a fearless competitor who is averaging 16 points on 67.9% shooting in the tournament. Wow! Edge, another tough call Kansas

    Coaching
Bill Self, in his first year with the Jayhawks, has reached the Sweet 16 in each of the past 4 seasons with Tulsa, Illinois, and now Kansas. Jacket's coach Paul Hewitt did a nice job of keeping his team focused in the Nevada game after Elder's injury and got some production from some unlikely sources. Advantage Even?

    Overall
Kansas will be playing in front of a mostly partisan crowd with the game being played in St Louis as, it tries to return to the Final Four for the 3rd consecutive year. The Jayhawks have yet to be tested in this tournament. They are a team that likes to push the ball upcourt and play an uptempo type game. Tech will definitey need players to step up their game a notch if Elder can't go or is less than 100% effective, which is the only way I can see him playing!

Advantages for Tech: The Jackets do have a 16-1 out of conference record with their only loss 80-83 at Georgia. Playing in the best conference in my opinion the ACC, they are battle tested.

Disadvantages for Tech: Location of the game favors Kansas. Leading scorer Elder banged up if playing at all. G Tech played in the Nit last year, while Kansas lost to Syracuse in the Championship game.

Advantages for Kansas: Played in NCAA Championship game last year. Location of the game favors them for getting a ton of fan support. Their starting team is healthy and playing on all cylinders right now.

Disadvantage for Kansas: Only one I can think of was starting the year out with a new head coach.

Playing Kansas and Xavier for 3 units each today! Hope info helps someone make the right decision on this game!
