Man, do I hate to play a dd favorite two days in a row, but I am doing it tonight.
Davidson comes in tonight after a fairly easy win against Elon last night, while WCU played a scrappy UNCG team winning by 5.
These teams are as different as night and day when it comes to their styles. WCU is an undisciplined team hitting 42% of their field goals, and 35% of their three's. They will be playing their 4th game in 4 days; tough for any team, especially when you have a weak bench like the Catamounts.
Davidson is a disciplined, well coached team, hitting 45% of their fg's and 34% of their 3's. They are 8 deep, and are a fundamentally sound team. They won by 21 in January against this same WCU team.
WCU is playing very good basketball, but I think it ends tonight. Davidson is a 2 hour drive, Cullowhee (WCU home) is a 1 hour drive so toss the home court advantage; both teams will be well represented by their fan base.
Lastly, Davidson hits 76% of their ft's while Western hits 68%, a key down the stretch.
Anything can happen, so be careful, but I expect Davidson to win this by 20, running away with this.
