Carolina Hurricanes @ Washington Capitals (+120)
The Capitals Olaf Kolzig seems to have Carolina's number. He is 15-7-7 overall with 3 shutouts and a GAA of 1.87. Carolina is 27-92 when they score 2 goals or less, and in their last 7 road games they are averaging exactly 2 GPG. Carolina is just 1-3-3- in road games this season and 0-2-2 in divisional games. The biggest angle is that Washington seems to have Carolina figured out since they are 20-8 ATS versus Carolina since 1996, and 11-4 ATS at home versus Carolina. As the wins against powerhouses like Tampa Bay and Atlanta prove, the Caps seem to turn it up when they have to, and tonight....they have to!!
New Jersey Devils (-120) @ Buffalo Sabres
The Devils Martin Brodeur seems to have found his groove. He leads the NHL with a solid 1.97 GAA. The fact that the Devils road record is 4-0-1 makes this an even stronger angle. The Devils seem to be doing just what they did last year, and we know where that got them.
