According to the New York Post, the Yankees are "preparing an offer" for A.J. Burnett that may be worth $80 million over five years.
Meanwhile, general manager J.P. Ricciardi said Monday that "if it's all about money, the Toronto Blue Jays will not be the highest-bidding team" on Burnett, with their offer expected to be in the range of $54 million over four years. "We're going to let him go out and see what's out there," Ricciardi said. "That's what he wants to do, see what teams are interested, see what's available and, at that point, come back to us and see if we're even going to be in the ballpark." Nov. 18 - 9:47 am et
