It is very interesting to note that these two teams play high games over double digits in New York....yet have only gone over 10 once at Fenway.
I look for just this.....Weaver MUST keep his pitches down in the strike zone to be effective. It's the yanks best chance not to go into a big hole early. If not.....he will issue walks AND then has to come into the zone for strikes and will get beat like a drum.
Lowe has to go at least 7 or into the eighth to keep that horrendous bullpen of Bostons off the field as well. Both teams now each have a closer so the first pitcher to throw craps before the eighth or into the seventh loses this one. ADVANTAGE BOSTON......And for whatever reason other that the above and below......the total looks to go UNDER 11 and take the Sox. with Lowe showing up and Weaver tanking.....that's only what the stats seem to bear out.
A no play for me but if I did it would be:
RED SOX -1.5 +135 or on the side at -138
Looking for around around a 7-3 or 6-4 game.

YANKEES PROBABLE STARTER: Weaver (5-8, 5.40 ERA). Weaver is 2-4 with a 6.37 ERA in nine career starts against Boston. He started at Fenway on May 20, yielding five runs and seven hits over five innings of New York's 10-7 loss.
RED SOX PROBABLE STARTER: Lowe (11-4, 4.85 ERA). Lowe is 5-7 with a 5.09 ERA in 32 career appearances, including eight starts, against the Yankees. He beat New York at Yankee Stadium on July 4, surrendering three runs and 10 hits over 6 1-3 innings in a 10-3 victory.
Making Weaver's task even more difficult is that he will be opposed by Boston right-hander Derek Lowe, who boasts a 7-1 mark with a 3.10 ERA in 10 starts at Fenway this year.
