HERES A COUPLE WRITEUPS ON THE GAME .
OAKLAND RAIDERS
I had the Raiders last week and I will take them again today. Art Shell is trying to establish a winning attitude within the organization and winning on the road is part of that success. When Shell coached Oakland last time he was a very profitable 8-4-1 ATS on the road in the preseason. I also love the fact that the Raiders already have a game under their belts. The Vikings will be very rusty, even in front of the home crowd, while Oakland will be much more relaxed and prepared to work as a unit for all four quarters. Teams playing their second preseason game are a solid 29-12-5 ATS as visitors if the first game was not played at home. I'll be with Oakland and the points again tonight.
AND
. Vikings- After watching the Raiders last week, I'm convinced the Vikings get the win here. But Drew, the Raiders beat the Eagles last week right? Yes and no.
On the scoreboard they won 16-10, but overall it was an ugly performance that proved the Raiders are still not wehre they need to be. Listen guys, whether it was Mcnabb or whoever, the Raiders defense couldn't stop anyone... true they forced 5 turnovers but we can attribute that to sloppy play by the Eagles, basically giving the game away in the second half.
Aaron Brooks was atrocious as usual, and now slotted to play into the second quarter, it can only get worse for the Raiders. It's important to note the Raiders are just 1-9 ATS on the road since the 2001 preseason, and I see no reason for that trend to change tonight.
With a new regime in place, Brad Childress like most new coaches playing for the first time at home will be looking for a resounding victory. Although neither team has much depth a QB, the Vikings Johnson and Mcmahon have the experience necessary to get the Vikings on the board early and often.
Bottom line, expect Childress to make an example of the Raiders tonight with a sound thumping by the Vikings. They have the home-field and all the weapons necessary to defeat a below average Raiders squad. Take the Vikings over the Raiders in the first installment of Monday Night Footaball this season.
I DONT PARTICULARLY LIKE THIS GAME. BUT I DO LIKE TEAMS WITH A GAME UNDER THEIR BELT. THEY JUST SEEM LESS MISTAKE PRONE. ART SHELL IS HERE WITH MOSS AND SO THATS INTERESTING TV. IM NOT STEPPING OUT BIG ON THIS ONE AS THERE ARE FAR BETTER GAMES COMING. HERE I THINK BOTH WOULDNT MINE WINNING. I LIKE OAKLAND as a small play as i tend to side with the 1st write up logic.
