The 2nd race is a $20,000 claiming sprint for fillies and mares. Par is 100. I think both of the first two choices on the morning line are a bit vulnerable in here and would like to see REATTA PASS make this two wins in a row. She won her last race on Aug. 30th at Del Mar, beating $16,000 fillies at the 99 par level with figures of 99-99. This horse is a "win-type" that has won 3 of her 5 starts at Santa Anita and 6 of 14 starts at this exact distance. She should get a nice trip stalking the pace and can run them down at the wire. 4-1 seems like very good value on her chances.
LIVE FREE OR DIE (4-1) used to have figures to crush this group but did the big negative pattern of coming off a layoff in March, running poorly and then going immediately on another layoff until now. This is a noticeable drop for her from allowance company and minor stakes to this level so if she has gotten the kinks out of her system then she may show enough speed to be competitive early and that can help her stick around late.
RADON (2-1) is coming off figures of 104-97 and 100-94. She doesn't seem like she's at the top of her form cycle right now which means she's beatable in here but she is tough if allowed to get near the front early and she could land a minor award.
REATTA PASS is the spot play win bet. She's a win machine who could notch another victory here SA. I'll focus on the win bet and use a quinella to LIVE FREE OR DIE and RADON. Good luck.
