  • NHL Montreal Canadians Kick Off Seven-Game Road Trip in Vancouver

The Montreal Canadiens and Vancouver Canucks will face each other for the first time this season on Tuesday when the Habs hit the road for the first game of a seven-game road trip. Both Montreal and Vancouver have struggled as of late and are entering Tuesday’s contest with 36 points secured. The Canucks are coming off of a two-game losing streak and are just 4-6 in their last 10 games. As for Montreal, they were in the midst of a three-game winning streak prior to losing Saturday night to the last-place Detroit Red Wings. Both teams will be eager to get back on track at Rogers Arena.

The Canucks will turn to their offensive leaders to take advantage of the sometimes-porous Montreal defence. Elias Pettersson (14 goals, 21 assists) has been the straw that turns the Canucks’ drink in 2019, and as a result, should be at the top of Montreal’s list of players to cover.

The Canadiens’ defence has been drastically better of late, surrendering just six goals in their previous four games. But they’ve been inconsistent throughout the majority of the season in their own end and rank 25th in goals against per game (3.21). They’ll need to be sharp this Tuesday (10 PM ET) if they hope to come away with two points.
