How many times have you been beaten by a half or whole point in betting hoops. I have more times than not. So, after reading this, it is my decision to either wait out hoops until baseball or play on what vegas thinks you will not play on. Of course, that would further serve my insanity in gambling on hoops even more. So, its baseball or hockey for me.
Nevada sportsbooks win with basektball betting in January

Nevada sportsbooks opened 2014 with a slam dunk, winning nearly $10.9 million on basketball betting in January.
According to the latest reports from the Nevada State Gaming Control Board, Silver State books took $145,643,431 in basketball bets (NBA and NCAAB) in January, recording a hold of 7.46 percent.
January is an improvement on December’s basketball earnings of $6.8 million but fell short of last January’s total earnings of $13.9 million, which broke the state record for the highest basketball win for that month.
Football betting in January, which comprised of a handful of college bowls – including the BCS Championship and the NFL playoffs, earned the state’s sportsbooks $2.46 million. Nevada books took more than $178,333,333 worth of football wagers with a win percentage of just 1.38 in January.
Those figures are a dip from December’s football numbers, in which sportbooks raked in $19.1 million on a 7.23 percent hold. However, there are fewer games to choose from in January compared to full schedules in the NFL regular season and the busy college bowl game calendar. Last January, Nevada books lost $5.8 million on football betting.
Other sports – which groups together NHL, tennis, golf, racing, boxing, MMA – earned $721,000 for Nevada books in January. That’s a slight drop from the $913,000 won in December.
Parlay cards finished with a total earning of $232,000 from a hold percentage of 6.33 percent in January. Parlay cards posted a win of $2.8 million for Nevada books in December 2013.
Overall, Nevada sportsbooks won $13.36 million in January 2014, an increase from the $8.2 million won in January 2013. Nevada casinos recorded a total gaming win of $884,203,134 in January, a 2.76 percent decrease from January 2013's earning of $909,267,893.
