Tenn Vols Receiver rumored leaving Tenn
Absent from practice, Da'Rick Rogers apparently isn't facing any sort of discipline.
But it may not make a difference either way.
According to a report by Panthersville.com, the Tennessee receiver has no plans to return for another workout during spring practice and is set to transfer to Georgia State. After addressing the media on Thursday morning and indicating that Rogers could return as early as the next practice on Saturday, Vols coach Derek Dooley was alerted to the possibility of the junior leaving the Vols for a team on their schedule this fall.
"Nobody has told me that," Dooley said.
The uncertainty extends to the situation facing Rogers even if he's not leaving the Vols after two productive seasons, though Dooley wouldn't address specifics about his status and denied that the first-team All-SEC performer was suspended.
Dooley had previously declined to confirm reports that Rogers missed multiple offseason workouts while suspended for conduct detrimental to the team.
"Da'Rick, he's got some things he's got to do internally, and when he does them, he'll be back," Dooley said during his post-practice media conference. "It's kind of an internal, team issue, and it's something he's just got to finish doing some stuff.
"I wouldn't call it anything other than he's got to do some things, and when he does he can come back. When he doesn't, he's not going to be here."
