How can you go Duval if you've never been on top? Rory has a ways to go before he can be mentioned with Duval. Duval won more than 10 tournaments and 1 Major. There isn’t a lot of guys on that course today that have done that. I don't know what happened to him, but in his 20's Duval was one of the top players on the PGA. Rory has won 1 PGA tournament and shows signs of huge promise. But, I'm not ready to crown him King Rory just yet. As of right now, he's closer to Van De Velde than Duval. JMO

What I meant was the fall from grace that DUVAL had.From having tons of confidence to almost none at all.It would have been.easy for Rory to just lose all confidence after Augusta

I was thinking of the biggest lead going into the final round, but that was definitely the biggest collapse. Whoever won that year was 9 or 10 strokes back at the start of the round. I think he was tied for 5th or so.

To play that hole like Van de Velde did was the ultimate choke job. Hands down

I would think the Jean Van DeVelde at the British Open when he needed a double bogey at 18 to win the tourny... maybe in 1999 or 2000... funny shiat
